On the cards

Tonight I need to cross town for dinner. A half hour journey on public transport in a different city. Not my favourite part of travel, but at least I have time to research the route and the tickets.

Best price was to use one of the local public transport cards. Convenient, but I generally leave town with a few dollars or Euro or whatever still remaining. I put them away in my bulging travel folder and forget about them.

Hmmmm. Maybe I have the card for this city in my collection? I pulled out a selection – as seen above – and yes, I do!

Now to work out if I have enough credit for the trip and to get back to the hotel.

Maybe if I play my cards right someone will drive me home. So to speak.

life, travel

Britni Pepper has always enjoyed telling stories. About people, places and pleasures. Her schoolmates loved listening to her stories about princesses and pirates and dragons, and once she looked up to find the principal looking on. "No, no, don't stop, Britni," he said. "I want to hear what happens next!" What happened next was university, a job in the travel industry, and a career of travelling the world meeting the most fascinating people. Britni has travelled to thirty of the world's nations and loves making up stories about fascinating people doing interesting things in exotic places. No longer tales about princes and wizards, but her stories are just as much fantasy as ever.
